Today was pretty productive, I passed off 2 PEs and got a FMX done. 3 quads of a 2 and an od on a 2. It was good considering my 12:30 patient was an hour late because she walked here. (I gave her a ride home). I wish for one day, people could be on time and I could effectively comunicate with them. Every patient since the beginning of the semester is spanish-speaking only.

Hi, my name is Darika Murphy. I am an off campus Weber student earning my bachelor’s degree in dental hygiene. I earned my A.S. in dental hygiene from Salt Lake Community College ’07 and am working full time as a dental hygienist in the Salt Lake Valley. I found Spanish-speaking patients the most difficult and rewarding. All my high class patients were Spanish speaking. Yet many times these patients no showed on me. Most my class and self had Spanish-speaking patients for clinical boards. So hang in there! I would love to provide you with any feedback or questions you have (hygiene school experience, board exams, after graduation work experience, etc.) Hope to hear from you.
